Area Sales Manager - Nordic Region

Full Time / Permanent

MBP Nordics office or home office (Norway, Sweden, Denmark)

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Area Sales Manager (ASM) experienced in the Nordic region food or feed manufacturing industries sector to further develop our Nordic activities. You will develop new customers and suppliers and can play a key role in development projects, all within oil-based products for use in animal feed, biogas, biofuels as well as technical products. You will independently manage your own accounts, utilizing your commercial insight. Key focus areas of this role will be the sales & sourcing of biological by-products from various industries in the Nordic countries. You will be part of a Nordic team as well as have regular communication and cooperation with MBP colleagues in other countries outside the Nordic region.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Management of ongoing business
  • Sales & Sourcing in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland.
  • Business development by actively identifying and serving companies in the industry that may have by-products that will fit the MBP concept.
  • Project management and participation in projects for developing specific strategic usages and applications for specific products/by-products/wastes.
  • Investigate potential new and commercially better outlets.
  • Deliver input to the overall MBP budgeting process and the strategies for the Nordic countries in close cooperation with the Sales Director
  • Participate in producing and maintaining a business plan for the business area.
  • Support legal and sustainability compliance.

Your Demonstrable Skills / Profile:

We are looking for someone with the following essential experience or qualifications (please only apply if you can demonstrate your experience, by providing on the job or education examples):

  • Experience in the Nordic region manufacturing industries, ideally within the food or feed sector
  • Commercial acumen
  • A keen interest in – with our support – to develop expertise in our products and their usages and application, the specific product-applications, customer requirements, product specifications, legislation etc.
  • Experience of building relationships across all levels and areas of the business along with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Written and verbal English language skills at business level
  • Scandinavian language skills at business level

Desirable experience or qualifications:

  • International business experience in a B2B setting
  • Key account management experience
  • Knowledge of freight and logistics and international transportation
  • Experience of dealing with EU regulations such as REACH and Food and Feed directives
  • Additional language skills
  • Continuous improvement / Lean / Six Sigma

  • Computer literate and comfortable using standard MS Office applications
  • Ability to work well on own initiative, presenting ideas
