Based in our Gouda, Netherlands office / Hybrid working

Technical expertise. Commercial instinct. Real-world impact.

MBP Solutions is looking for a commercially driven Technical Sales Manager to help grow our renewable fuels business and play a key role in the success of our new production facility in the Netherlands.

You’ll be sourcing feedstocks from biodiesel distillation residues, developing markets for bio marine fuels, working with leading biodiesel producers across Europe and helping shape MBP’s future position in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply chains. You’ll work directly with customers, suppliers, processing partners, laboratories, technical specialists and regulatory experts to understand products, solve technical and commercial challenges and turn waste and residue streams into valuable renewable fuel solutions.

This is a hands-on technical-commercial role, combining commercial responsibility with a strong understanding of products, specifications, and their applications.

What you’ll do

  • Secure feedstock supply for MBP’s new NL facility
  • Develop relationships with biodiesel producers across Europe
  • Drive sales of bio marine fuel and identify new market opportunities
  • Work closely with our strategic processing partner in Germany
  • Support the development of new fuel products and applications
  • Lead technical-commercial discussions with customers and suppliers around product specifications, feedstock characteristics, samples, analysis, quality issues and potential applications
  • Work together with Quality, Operations and external partners to assess new feedstocks and develop practical solutions
  • Help navigate evolving sustainability requirements including RED III, FuelEU Maritime and EU ETS

What we’re looking for

You may currently be working in technical sales, technical business development, product management or another technical-commercial role within Biofuels, Biodiesel, Marine fuels, Fats & Oils, Oleochemicals, Waste and residue processing or a related process industry.

We are looking for someone who combines strong commercial drive with sufficient technical knowledge and experience to independently manage demanding industrial customers and take ownership of existing business relatively quickly.

You’ll bring:

  • At least five years’ experience in trading, account management or business development in a relevant technical-commercial environment, ideally within biofuels, biodiesel, marine fuels, fats & oils, oleochemicals, waste and residue processing or a related process industry
  • Experience working directly with technical B2B customers, suppliers, production facilities and/or quality teams
  • Strong commercial instincts and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to understand and discuss product specifications, feedstock characteristics, laboratory analyses, processing limitations and quality deviations
  • A scientific, technical or engineering mindset with a relevant natural science or engineering education or equivalent demonstrable technical experience
  • A hands-on and solution-oriented approach, comfortable getting involved in samples, specifications, trials, quality issues and technical-commercial problem solving
  • Fluent English (min C1) and ideally German (min C1). Other European languages are an advantage
  • Curiosity, resilience and a willingness to help build something new, with the ability to take ownership and get up to speed quickly

The role goes beyond transactional sales. We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding the product and its application, working closely with technical and operational teams and translating this knowledge into commercially successful solutions.
