We’re proud to share highlights from our 2024 Sustainability Report. The content in this report reflects the measurable progress we’ve made on environmental, social and governance goals across MBP Group Holding.

This year’s report marks a meaningful step forward in transparency and accountability. It is structured for the first time using the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs (VSME). This globally aligned framework sets us up for future reporting under EU CSRD/ESRS, while helping us improve our transparency in business operations.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

As a trusted sustainability partner, we’re committed to measurable impact. That’s why we align our environmental policy with ISO 14001:2015, maintain safety and fair workplace practices across all operations, and publish our EcoVadis results publicly. In 2024, we remained in the top 15% of more than 100,000 companies globally on the EcoVadis sustainability benchmark.

We’ve also been publishing our annual UN Global Compact Communication on Progress (CoP) since 2018, reinforcing our alignment with the Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.

This year, our report adopts the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs (VSME), marking a new era of transparent, scalable ESG reporting.

Four Priories Driving our Progress

Our actions are focused around four strategic goals:

  • Promoting Resource Efficiency: New UCO machinery in Norway and transitioning to 100% fossil-free green electricity at Rasmix Oy in Finland are just two examples of how we are continually working towards greatly efficiencies.
  • Enabling Circularity: We recover value from over 500 different by-product streams, turning industry residues into new business opportunities.
  • Improving Traceability: A new account onboarding process strengthens compliance and transparency across our supply chains.
  • Enhancing Expertise: Through the acquisition of Vesttec ApS in Denmark and new offices in Spain and Malaysia, we’re expanding local knowledge and local support.

Carbon & Energy: Measuring What Matters

We believe data drives progress. That’s why we’ve partnered with Planet Mark for verified carbon reporting across Scopes 1, 2 and 3.

  • 2024 Results: We reduced Scope 1 & 2 carbon emissions per employee by 7.5%, beating our 5% target.

  • Total Emissions: 1,149.4 tCO₂e with full breakdowns by scope and energy source included in the report.

  • Energy Mix: More than 43% of electricity came from renewable sources.

What’s Next: Sustainability Goals for 2025

People are the heart of the MBP. In 2024, we had zero workplace accidents which reflects our strong safety culture and training across teams. We support fair wages, embrace diversity (with 33 nationalities on staff) and maintain a strong employee retention rate of 86%.

At the same time, we’re working closely with external stakeholders to build a sustainable value chain. Last year, we facilitated more than 35 external audits and captured actionable insights from our annual stakeholder feedback survey.

What’s Next: Sustainability Goals for 2025

Looking ahead, we’ve set clear goals to build on this momentum:

  • Reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions by another 5%

  • Transition to 100% green electricity in MBP Bio Production AS production facility in Norway

  • We’re also continuing our digital transformation and expanding sustainability metrics to improve decision-making at every level.
