Technical Sales Support Manager

Full Time / Permanent

Gouda, Netherlands or other MBP European office

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Technical Sales Support Manager to support the European Sales Director, as well as the Application Experts in our major application with product documentation, registrations, and permissions as well as marketing. You will have a strong technical background and an interest in finding innovative and sustainable solutions for by-products and wastes. For the right candidate there is future potential to graduate to an Account Manager position, or take over a larger part of the application expert role, and may expand into other support areas such as quality and legal.

MBP Solutions was founded in 1999 and specialises in adding value to biological by-products through unique know-how regarding product applications, sustainability, sales and marketing, legal compliance and supply chain management. 

With a focus on the utilisation of the resources in biological by-products, MBP Solutions has developed a unique service called OMBP (Outsourced Management of By-Products) where by-products and wastes from 33 different factories in Europe and North America are managed in a sustainable way.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Product documentation, update and maintain PDS and MSDS in order to ensure compliance as well as clear and relevant product documentation for relevant applications
  • Maintain the ‘right to sell’ product status for specific products.
  • Follow certain market specific developments in terms of technical compliance and product specifications
  • Sharepoint responsibility for product sites and industry sites that are important for the global sales organisation to have access to updated product documentation and general information
  • Taric and HS classification. Have a very good understanding of the HS classifications in the countries that MBP has legal units. Be responsible for maintaining correct classifications in MBP’s ERP system as well as official BTIs.
  • ERP systems. maintain and set up new items per supplier in the ERP system ensuring compliance with excise, VAT, national HS systems, sustainability certification requirements as well as reporting needs.
  • Maintain the EU REACH registrations as well as ensure new relevant REACH registrations are in place and assist in ensuring that MBP complies with REACH legislation (including in the UK). Communicate with strategic partners (e.g. Baecktrade that maintain REACH registrations in certain products (fatty alcohols and alkanes)).
  • Have a very good understanding of EU and international waste legislation, classification and transports. Assist MBP sale, customers and suppliers in order to ensure compliance and identify business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain key slides, product marketing material and presentations to be used in the global sales work in the principal applications.
  • Potentially drive product development projects involving tests or trials at research institutions or with customers.
  • Participate in ad hoc customer meetings and demonstrate product and/or application expertise
  • Develop and maintain training material for induction of new and existing employees in different functions in MBP.
  • Any other task or responsibility, as reasonably required of the role or company

Additional Responsibilities

  • Undertake Microsoft champion program and provide knowledge to peers. Actively use (and encourage user adoption) of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and One Drive and provide feedback on new applications, including concerns and issues.
  • SharePoint Site Owner – Work closely with the SharePoint Admins and be a key decision maker for how the site will be used and structured. Responsible for the overall content and how this is organised and managed, allowing your team to benefit from the features of SharePoint/Teams and associated apps.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experienced within logistics 
  • Used to working with analyses, statistics and data 
  • Well versed in relevant Microsoft IT programmes 
  • Experience of building relationships across all levels and areas of the business along with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. 
  • Written and verbal English language skills at business level 

Your Demonstrable Skills / Profile:

We are looking for someone with the following essential experience or qualifications(please only apply if you can demonstrate your experience, by providing on the job or education examples): 

  • Relevant educations in environmental or chemical engineering or a strong technical/natural sciences background.
  • Strong technical background and an interest in finding innovative and sustainable solutions for by-products and wastes.
  • Experience of building relationships across all levels and areas of the business along with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Written and verbal English language skills at business level

Desirable experience or qualifications:  

  • International business experience in a B2B setting
  • Additional language skills
  • Knowledge of freight and logistics and international transportation
  • Experience of dealing with EU regulations such as REACH and Food and Feed directives
  • Continuous improvement / Lean / Six Sigma

 Essential demonstrable Skills/Profile we are looking for: 

  • Have a positive attitude towards change and comply with digitalisation advancements such as new IT Solutions.
  • Ensure the responsible use of TQM System (a tool that promotes the continual improvement of our Quality and Environmental Management System) by registering and/or handling and/or closing a case, within deadlines and completing all the necessary fields (KPIs, Costs) to ensure reliable statistical data to be extracted from this tool. 
  • Positively participate in professional and personal development by attending and completing assigned training courses, in a timely manner. 
  • Adopt a LEAN mentality towards working processes and practices. 
  • Establish relationships with key personnel both internally and externally, treating colleagues with respect and dignity. 
  • Adhere to all company routines, policies and procedures.  
  • Travel: International travel is limited but expected
