SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Combining two core competencies, Sustainability and Supply Chain Management, MBP Solutions started to transport flexitanks by barge instead of road, in order to reduce the GHG emissions from transport of products.
Together with OTB (Overslag Terminal Bergambacht) and Stubbe Logistics, we managed to move 10 containers from road to barge, thus contributing to a sustainable environment and mitigating the negative impact, as the global economy undergoes a transition to a net-zero future by 2030.
We started introducing waterways for inbound logistic processes through cooperation with the new Bergambacht terminal, Netherlands, in 2022. We expect to ship additional 18 containers via the same route, saving this way 3024 km from road transport just in January 2022 for a single customer.
We are looking forward to developing additional routes in the same manner and continuously decreasing our CO2 emissions from transport.
