The Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt is hosting the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27), with a view to building on previous successes and paving the way for future ambition to effectively tackle the global challenge of climate change. The conference takes place from 6-18 November 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
At COP 27, countries come together to take action toward achieving the world’s collective climate goals as agreed under the Paris Agreement and the Convention. Building on the outcomes and momentum of COP 26 in Glasgow last year, nations are expected to demonstrate at COP 27 that they are in a new era of implementation by turning their commitments under The Paris Agreement into action.
The main aim of the Paris Agreement is to keep the global average temperature rise this century as close as possible to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. The UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) is also the parent treaty of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. The ultimate objective of all three agreements under the UNFCCC is to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that will prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system, in a time frame which allows ecosystems to adapt naturally and enables sustainable development.
MBP Solutions is joining the thousands that take action to combat climate change and its impacts, not only on this occasion. The degradation of the world’s natural resources caused by human activities has created the need to move from a linear model of consumption to one that maintains the highest utility and value of products, components and materials at all times. Our company encourages sustainable production and consumption patterns that help bring the concept of the circular economy to life.
