MBP ACHIEVES ISCC CERTIFICATE 2020

Sustainability

Biofuels, bioliquids and biomethane substrates

Protecting the environment has been part of the ideological backbone of MBP Solutions since the company was founded in 1999. MBP has been built on the principles of sustainability and seeking to add as much value as possible to industrial by-products.

Since 2012 MBP has supplied the market with biofuels and bioliquids certified according to the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED) standards. Currently MBP is certified according to RSB (the Roundtable for Sustainable Biomaterials), as well as according to ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification), both RED voluntary schemes. This certification allows us to prove that our biofuels, bioliquids, and substrates for biomethane are sustainable. It also allows our customers to qualify for tax exemptions and other incentive schemes in the bioenergy sector.

ISCC Certificate

In July 2020, we received the latest version of the ISCC EU certificate after successfully passing the audit.

ISCC is a globally leading certification system covering the entire supply chain and all kinds of bio-based feedstocks and renewables.

This certification ensures that MBP complies with high ecological and social sustainability requirements, greenhouse gas emissions savings and traceability throughout the supply chain. This certification can be applied for all markets, including bioenergy  and chemical/ technical applications.

Iscc cERTIFICATION ENSURES THAT:

• Biomass is not produced on land with high biodiversity and high carbon stock

• Good agricultural practices protecting soil, water and air are applied

• Human rights, labour and land rights are respected

• Sustainable material is traceable throughout international supply chains

• Greenhouse gas reduction targets are met (e.g. for European biofuels markets).
